Johnson Law Group's Community Service Project
Commerce City, CO – 7/12/2023 – Backpack Bash, a community service project of Johnson Law Group, is gearing up to provide free school supplies to local students in need. Starting July 12th, Johson Law Group Family Law Attorneys and support legal team will begin collecting new or slightly used backpacks and school supplies for kids ages K–12 at ALL Colorado Johnson Law Group locations! The team will assemble boxes in the front entrances at the Colorado Springs, Englewood, Denver, and Commerce City locations for donation drop-offs.
After the month of collecting donations, the Johnson Law Group team will meet at the Commerce City location on Sunday, August 6th from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. to assemble the backpacks to donate to the #BeAGiver Denver Human Services Back to School Drive!
“Every child deserves the tools to be confident and successful in school, no matter their family or financial situation. It is heartbreaking to learn students arrive on the first day of school without so much as a pencil. We are eager to be able to help as many students get a head start on the school year,” said Myles Johnson, Partner at Johnson Law Group. “No child should have to go without the supplies they need to succeed in school.”
Backpack Bash is the quarterly community service project effort involving Johnson Law Group team members and outside partners. The goal is to provide as many possible backpacks with school supplies to students in need.
“We are grateful for the support of our internal team members,” said Genet Johnson, Founding Partner. “Working together with our community, we can make a difference in students' lives.”
Donations of school supplies are being accepted. The most-needed items include:
- High school and elementary school backpacks
- Spiral notebooks (college and wide ruled)
- 3-ring binders
- Pens (blue, black, or red)
- Pencils
- Plastic pocket folders
- Face masks
Other items that can be donated include:
- Mechanical pencils
- Colored pencils
- Erasers
- Highlighters
- Rulers
- Protractors
- Loose leaf college ruled paper
- 3x5 index cards
- Scientific or basic calculators
- Thumb drives
- Dry erase markers
- Facial tissue
- Hand sanitizer
- Sanitizing wipes
