A Passionate Advocate for Families: Genet Johnson is the Founder and a member of Johnson Law Group, bringing a wealth of experience and dedication to her practice. Originally from Amarillo, Texas, Genet's decision to pursue law stemmed from her desire to advocate for others and hone her communication skills. Family law became her focus due to her passion for helping families navigate challenging situations.
Teamwork: Driven by a mission to improve the lives of families within the community, Genet, alongside her husband Myles, a constant source of support, established Johnson Law Group. This spirit of encouragement is a cornerstone of the firm's culture today. Genet demonstrates a continual dedication to enhancing our team dynamics and recently initiated a comprehensive mentorship program. This initiative is designed to benefit our future mentors, mentees, and the firm overall.
Academic and Professional Background: Genet's impressive qualifications include a B.A. from Yale University and a law degree from the University of Colorado Law School. Her law school experience encompassed serving as a student attorney in the Civil Practice Clinic, Associate Editor for the Journal of Telecommunications and High Technology Law, and interning for Justice Allison Eid on the Colorado Supreme Court. As a past associate at a mid-sized Denver law firm, Genet represented clients in civil matters in state and federal court.
Genet is a licensed mediator and a member of the Colorado Bar Association. Her dedication to the community extends to her role as a Board Member for the Colorado Board of Continuing Legal and Judicial Education.
Accolades: Genet's achievements are recognized by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys' 10 Best Female Attorneys designation. Additionally, she has received the Excellence in Clinical Education Award and the Irving P. Andrews Award for Outstanding Law Graduate. Genet has also been selected as a rising star affiliated with Super Lawyers in 2021, 2023, and 2024.

Interests and Community Involvement: Genet is passionate about empowering young people. She started a high-school internship program to give kids the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a variety of areas. This includes drafting legal documents, observing client meetings, attending court hearings, and more. Outside of work, Genet is a classically trained musician who enjoys playing board games with her family, singing at church, and staying active.
