A family law case is built one document, one decision, and one conversation at a time. The hardest part is often not the law itself but the feeling that no one is steering. Johnson Law Group is built around one thing, family law, and we bring that same clear direction to Englewood families facing a divorce, a custody case, or a support dispute.

Englewood family law cases are heard by the Arapahoe County District Court, part of the Eighteenth Judicial District, at the Justice Center in Centennial. Since the state’s 2025 reorganization, that district covers Arapahoe County alone. Our Inverness office is about a 10 to 15 minute drive from the courthouse, and we appear there regularly.
Clients in Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Castle Pines, and Parker live in Douglas County. Their family cases are heard at the Douglas County Courthouse, 4000 Justice Way in Castle Rock, part of the Twenty-Third Judicial District. We handle cases in both courthouses from this office.

Why Englewood Families Trust Johnson Law Group
The first call is not a sales call. You will talk to someone who listens before recommending anything, asks the questions that matter, and tells you what we would do next in your position. Guidance over conversion is the part clients tell us makes the difference.
We build cases the way you would want yours built. Two cases that look identical on paper can take very different shapes once you look at the kids, the assets, and the history. We start with what you actually need protected, build a strategy around it, and document the case as we go.
A client portal that keeps you in the loop. When you hire Johnson Law Group, you get access to our Client Portal at no additional cost. Real-time alerts on every case milestone, transparent billing, and a direct line to your legal team.
We are staffed for cases that do not fit a template. A closely held business, equity compensation from a Tech Center employer, a relocation request, or a spouse in another state. Most Englewood family cases do not require any of that, and when yours does, it is work we know how to do.
A strategy built around what you actually need. Every case starts with your specific goals, whether that is protecting time with your kids, safeguarding what you built, or getting through this with less damage done. We prepare for every phase before it arrives.
What to Expect When You Call
Our consultation process is straightforward and built around three things you need before any decisions get made:
- We listen first. Tell us what is happening. The short version is fine, and we will ask the questions that matter.
- We explain what Colorado law says. In plain English. No lecture, no scare tactics, no pressure.
- We map the next step. You will leave the consultation with a clear sense of what comes next: filing, responding, gathering records, or pausing to think it through.
Does this sound like the kind of support that would make your family law case less stressful? Call Johnson Law Group, LLC at (720) 740-2578 or contact us online to schedule a consultation with a family law attorney at our Englewood, Colorado office.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where is my Englewood family law case filed?
Divorce, custody, and support cases for Englewood residents are filed with the Arapahoe County District Court at the Justice Center, 7325 S. Potomac Street in Centennial, in the Eighteenth Judicial District. If you live in a Douglas County community such as Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, or Parker, your case is heard at the Douglas County Courthouse in Castle Rock instead. We confirm the correct venue at your consultation.
Do I have to come into the Englewood office, or can we handle this virtually?
Either works. We meet clients in person at Inverness Parkway and by video or phone, and Colorado’s e-filing system handles most paperwork without repeated trips to the courthouse. Court appearances, when required, happen in the county where your case is filed regardless of how we meet.
What if my spouse lives outside Englewood, or outside Colorado?
Colorado can generally decide a divorce when one spouse has been domiciled in the state for at least 91 days, even if the other spouse lives elsewhere. Decisions about children follow a separate rule that looks at where the child has lived, usually for the past six months. We sort out which court has authority over which issue before anything is filed.
How much will an Englewood family law case cost?
It depends on the issues in dispute, how much the other side cooperates, and whether the case settles or goes to a hearing. We do not quote a number before we understand your case, and we are cautious of anyone who does. At the consultation we explain how we bill, what drives cost up or down, and where you can keep it contained.
I am not sure what kind of legal help I need yet.
That is a normal place to start; many people call with a situation rather than a case type. Part of the consultation is sorting out whether you need a filing, a response, a modification, or just a clear read on your options. There is no pressure to hire anyone at the end of that conversation.

Overboard: How to Avoid Sinking in Your Colorado Family Law Case
Written by Family Law Attorney Myles S. Johnson
Divorce doesn’t have to be dramatic. For the litigants, losing your spouse is significant enough. But you can choose the way it affects your daily life. The only guarantee I can give is that the feeling that you have right now will not be the feeling you end with. This is a season in your life, and it must be approached that way.
This acclaimed book positions Johnson Law Group as a thought leader in Colorado family law, providing clients with the same proven strategies that have guided hundreds of families through successful outcomes.
